Service Description

Ketamine has been an FDA approved anesthetic since the 1970s. More recently, low dose IV Ketamine infusions have been effectively used to treat chronic depression. An advantage of IV Ketamine infusion treatment is its potential for rapid action at brain receptor sites. One of these is the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor found on gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) neurons. These receptors stimulate the neural signaling and synaptic plasticity that are thought to underlie the antidepressant benefits of Ketamine.
